SARS has missed its revenue collection target by billions

VAAL TRIANGLE - The South African Revenue Service has missed its revenue collection target by R 66 billion. The target was set in February last year. SARS has announced that it collected R 1.356 trillion in revenue for the 2019/2020 financial year. It says personal income tax was the main source of revenue. The contribution of corporate tax and VAT shrank as businesses and consumers continued to struggle.
