SASOLBURG - Sasol has confirmed that there is currently one positive COVID-19 case at its Sasolburg Operations. Communication and Brand Management Manager, Karin Fourie, said in a statement sent to 90.6 FM News that the affected employee is in self-isolation, receiving treatment, is well looked after from a healthcare perspective and affected family members are also in self-isolation. According to Fourie, contact tracing and testing measures were immediately initiated. Colleagues who were on shift with the employee who tested positive have all been tested and declared negative. Fourie said Sasol has controls in place, aligned to the Department of Health regulations, to ensure it safeguards the health and wellbeing of its employees. These measures seek to minimise the further spread of COVID-19 and include protocols to manage positive cases. Fourie said Sasol is providing the necessary support to the employees and their families. She further assured the public that Sasol remains committed to the safety and health of its employees, service providers and the community.
