Sasol prepares to open bursary applications

VAAL TRIANGLE - Matriculants in the Vaal Triangle can apply for bursaries to study from Sasol. The South African chemical and energy company is preparing to open applications for its corporate bursary program for the 2021 academic year. Applications open annually in March. According to Business Tech, high performing mathematics and science learners who are currently in Grade 12 can apply for the all-inclusive bursary to study engineering, science and accounting degrees at approved public universities. The bursary program, which has run for more than three decades, includes tuition fees, accommodation, meals, textbooks, and pocket money. Bursars also receive allowances for study tools like laptops and calculators, as well as the opportunity to do paid vacation work. Applicants need to obtain a minimum of 70% for mathematics, 70% for science, and 60% for English to be considered. According to the Graduate Centre at Sasol manager, Monica Luwes, the bursary is the company’s investment in building a high-performing workforce and fostering sustainable socio-economic development to the benefit of the country as a whole.
