South Africans can comment on the new Hate Speech Bill until next week Monday.

VAAL TRIANGLE - The public has until next week Monday to comment on the new Prevention and Combating of Hate Crimes and Hate Speech Bill. The bill seeks to address the increasing number of incidents, motivated by prejudices, in the form of hate crimes and hate speech, and to assist people who are victims of and harmed by such speech. FOR SA’s executive director Michael Swain says citizens must push back against the bill.
