Stage 5 loadshedding could drop later in the week

VAAL TRIANGLE - Eskom says it will continue implementing stage five load-shedding, with the possibility of reducing one stage by tomorrow. The power utility’s spokesperson, Sikonathi Mantshantsha, says since Monday afternoon four generation units at four power stations were taken offline for emergency repairs, while seven units have returned to service. He says load-shedding is implemented only as a last resort given the shortage of generation capacity and the need to attend to breakdowns.
