Suspect to Appear in Sasolburg Court for Motor Vehicle Theft

SASOLBURG - A 32-year-old man is set to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrates' Court on charges of motor vehicle theft, today. Police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani says the Fezile Dabi district team was conducting a patrol in Sebokeng, in the Vaal Triangle, as part of an operation to trace a copper cable thief, on July 16, 2024. According to Rani, during their patrol, the team received information about a Hyundai i20 escorting a stolen Toyota Hilux, believed to have been taken from Vaalpark and suspected to be heading towards Gauteng. The team spotted the two vehicles and gave chase. They successfully stopped the Toyota Hilux, although the Hyundai i20 managed to evade capture. The suspect driving the Toyota Hilux was arrested, and the stolen vehicle was seized. The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrates' Court today, Thursday, July 18, 2024, on charges of motor vehicle theft.
