Taxis’ allowable load now changed from 50% to 70% capacity

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, says the loading capacity in public transport has been increased from 50% to 70%. The Minister says he will also be ensuring that the taxi-drivers are adhering to the new regulations that have been placed with regards to the national lockdown. Mbalulasays if the taxi is loaded to 100%, commuters must wear a mask and gloves to protect themselves.

Meanwhile, the South African Federation of Trade Unions (SAFTU) general secretary, Zwelinzima Vavi, has tested positive for the coronavirus.
