SEBOKENG - The Sebokeng SAPS arrested a suspect in Sebokeng for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition after an anonymous tip-off from community members. According to Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, police responded to a call of suspected drug activities at a local residence. Acting on this information, the Sebokeng Crime Prevention Unit swiftly proceeded to the property. Upon arrival, the suspect initially refused to open the door, insisting on a search warrant. However, officers explained the "no knock clause," which allows police entry under certain conditions. The suspect eventually complied, and a thorough search of the premises led to the discovery of three unlicensed firearms and over 400 rounds of ammunition. The suspect was immediately taken into custody on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms. Acting Station Commander Colonel Stofina Mofokeng praised the community's role in the arrest, emphasizing the importance of community-police cooperation in combating crime. Investigations into the origin of the firearms are ongoing.
