Three moderate to serious injuries after separate accidents in Meyerton, Bophelong

VAAL TRIANGLE - Paramedics say a 54-year-old man was seriously injured yesterday when their cash-in-transit vehicle rolled on the R557 in Meyerton. ER24 paramedics, along with Meyerton EMS, arrived on the scene at 11:40 am to find the vehicle lying on its roof on the side of the road. The three men had already climbed out and were found seated near their vehicle. Medics assessed the men and found that two had escaped injury while the third man had sustained serious injuries to his back. The man was treated for his injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.


In another local incident, two women, believed to be in their 30s, were injured when they were struck by a light motor vehicle on Nelson Mandela Road in Bophelong. ER24 paramedics, along with the Provincial EMS, found a light motor vehicle on its roof on the side of the road. The male driver was walking around on the scene while two female pedestrians were found lying a short distance away. The man had escaped injury while the two women had sustained moderate to serious injuries. The women were treated for their injuries and were provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
