Vaal Mall business robbery suspects nabbed

VANDERBIJLPARK - The Vanderbijlpark police released a statement saying that they together with local Security Companies have pledged to have a safer Vanderbijlpark area. Spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said this in reaction to a robbery that occurred in the Vaal Mall over the weekend. According to Makhale, Security personnel of Vaal Mall received a complaint of a business robbery in one of their stores. Security personnel reacted swiftly, called the Sector vehicle and then chased the three suspects who robbed the store and loaded cell phones inside sports bags. Makhale says three suspects fled and one suspect was arrested in possession of a firearm which later was discovered to be a toy gun. According to Makhale, the 41-year-old male suspect from Soweto was detained and will be profiled to check if he cannot be linked with other crimes.
