Vanderbijlpark police arrested two murder suspects, searching for more

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Vanderbijlpark SAPS arrested two suspects after they allegedly took part in the killing of a man that burnt one suspect’s shack down. Police spokesperson, Sgt Gertrude Makhale, said in a statement that the involved suspect went to Bophelong Police Station to open an arson case when police realised that the suspect has his accomplices murdered the alleged arson suspect. Makhale said the suspect alleges he was involved in a fight with the 30-year-old victim on the 14th of April 2021. He alleges that they fought, the deceased threatened him, saying he will teach him a lesson, and then left. About 2 hours after the incident the suspect was called by neighbours who informed him that his shack was burning. He went to check and found his shack was burned down. The suspect and his friends went to look for the deceased at Marikana Squatter camp and assaulted him, took him to the burned shack at Joko Tea squatter camp and assaulted him further. The community joined in assaulting the deceased and set him alight. Two suspects aged 23 and 24 years were arrested for murder.
