Vereeniging Gimnasium deputy head boy killed in motorcycle crash

VANDERBIJLPARK - The man who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Vanderbijlpark, Vaal Triangle, yesterday afternoon was reportedly one of Vereeniging Gimnasium's deputy head boys last year. According to Vaalweekblad, Ferdie Pieterse was killed yesterday afternoon when his motorbike struck a motor vehicle at the Louis Trichardt and Hendrik Van Eck Boulevard intersection. ER24 said in a statement their paramedics arrived on the scene at around 14:11 to find the motor vehicle just past the intersection while the motorbike and Pieterse were found lying near the corner of the road. ER24 medics assessed Pieterse and found he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead on the scene. The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations. Jan Naudé from the Mystify Vaal Motorcycle club confirmed that Pieterse was one of the deputy head boys of Vereeniging Gimnasium. He was due to receive his matric results today.
