VANDERBIJLPARK - Paramedics say a woman had to be airlifted after the vehicle she was travelling in struck a cow on the R42 Staalrus in Vanderbijlpark, Vaal Triangle. Netcare 911 says their paramedics arrived on the scene at around 20:12 pm last night. Medics assessed the scene and found that an adult female passenger had sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by Advanced Life support paramedics. Due to the nature of the women's injuries, a medical helicopter was activated to airlift the patient to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle had sustained minor injuries and was assessed on the scene however declined ambulance transportation to the hospital. Upon assessment, it was found that the cow had sustained fatal injuries.
