New offer on the table in attempt to end bus drivers’ strike

May 7, 2018

VAAL TRIANGLE - The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union says a new wage offer has been put on the table in an attempt to end the national bus drivers’ strike. Drivers are now being offered an increase of 8.75% for the first year and 8.25% for the second year. Workers have been on strike for nearly a month, demanding a 9% wage hike. Satawu national coordinator Solomon Mahlangu says they will take the proposal to its members for consideration.
