R28 road officially reopened

VAAL TRIANGLE - Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Dr Ismail Vadi, has officially opened the rehabilitated multimillion Rand R28 road in Westonaria, Vaal Triangle. The R299 million rehabilitation project is in line with the Gauteng Provincial Government’s commitment to improving and providing world-class road infrastructure that facilitates access to economic opportunities and improving the lives of residents for the better. The MEC said the single carriageway provides a bypass for road traffic from the south of Johannesburg to the N12 and the North West province. He said the project scope included significant road works along 29 kilometres of the R28; reinstating road markings and signage; replacing damaged signs and guardrails as well as clearing the road reserve and drainage structures.
