VANDERBIJLPARK - Two females, a 36 and 21-year-old, suffered minor and moderate injuries respectively following a five car collision during a funeral procession on Frikkie Meyer Street in Vanderbijlpark, on Saturday morning. ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, says paramedics were on scene at 10:47 where they found the various light motor vehicles on the sides of the road. Meiring says fortunately no one was seriously injured. The two women were treated on scene and transported to Sebokeng Hospital for further care. He says local authorities were on the scene for further investigation.
Meanwhile, two men in their late 30s were killed on Saturday evening when a motorbike and bicycle collided on the R57 in Vanderbijlpark. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 17:16 to find both the men and their bikes off the side of the road. Both had sustained severe injuries in the collision and unfortunately showed no signs of life. Both were declared dead on arrival by ER24. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
