June 12, 2019

VANDERBIJLPARK - The Emfuleni Local Municipality asked for patience as it gives attention to the relocation of its employees who worked at the OK building in Vanderbijlpark. The municipality said in a statement its employees abandoned their work stations at the building due to unsafe working conditions. It said employees had to face several challenges, including sewer spillages which led to bad odor in the basement and offices. Municipal Manager DithabeNkoane and Executive Mayor Gift Moerane yesterday resolved at a meeting that affected employees should be relocated. A task team was set up primarily to investigate the feasibility of relocation, to find an alternative workspace from existing municipal buildings and offices that are available, as well as relocating the Revenue and Customer Care Center to an accessible area within the Vanderbijlpark CBD. Emfuleni said the relocation will take approximately a week to complete and urged residents to use alternative pay points at Standard Bank; direct EFT into Emfuleni’s account; Easy Pay service or the municipal offices in Zone 10, Sebokeng.
