VAAL TRIANGLE - Vaal Triangle residents have been urged to keep the warm clothes close as a cold front will hit just after the weekend. Gauteng Weather and Storm Report SA have issued a watch for a “fast-moving” cold front that is expected to grace South Africa this weekend. The cold front will only reach Gauteng on Sunday. Storm Report SA said they are expecting a series of cold fronts over the next few days over the country. The first cold front made landfall last night in the Western Cape. However, SA Weather Service forecaster Wayne Venter said that on Sunday afternoon there will be a big cold front which will make landfall and will move over the central parts of the country into Gauteng. Venter said there will be rainy conditions over the Free State and snow on Monday over the Western Cape and the Drakensberg. He urged South Africans to dress warmly and keep a safe distance when driving. He also said farmers should be prepared to protect their stock.
