Kidnappers demanding ransom for release of College Park girl

September 2, 2019

VANDERBIJLPARK - The 90.6FM Stereo News team are still waiting for confirmation from the Vanderbijlpark SAPS, but a member of the Klerksdorp Community Police Forum confirmed that Amy-Lee's parents had been contacted by the kidnappers who are demanding R2million for her release. Earlier this morning the news team reported that Amy-Lee de Jager (6) was kidnapped outside the College Park Primary School in Vanderbijlpark. Police spokesperson Sergeant Getrude Makhale confirmed that it was indeed a kidnapping and not a hijacking. Makhale says four men in a Toyota Fortuner kidnapped de Jager. The girl allegedly wore a white shirt, pink skirt and black tights. The community is asked to be on the lookout for the vehicle and to contact the police immediately if the suspect vehicle is spotted. Anyone with information can contact the Vanderbijlpark police on 016 910 9000.
