Woman accused of pepper-spraying mother at Vaal Mall opens a counter case

October 29, 2019

VANDERBIJLPARK - The woman who was allegedly pepper-sprayed while she breastfed her baby at the Vaal Mall, Itumeleng Tsoeu, is set to return to the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court this week but this time as the accused. In August, Eyewitness News reported on the story where she claimed she was attacked by Tarynne van der Westhuizen over parking at the Mall. Van der Westhuizen allegedly also shouted racial slurs at Tsoeu, calling her a monkey. Van der Westhuizen has already appeared in court while investigations continue. According to the Police, she is taking Tsoeu on the same charge of assault. She claims she was also injured when Tsoeu opened the car door and that she didn't see the baby who was being breastfed. She is currently out on bail.
