19-year-old arrested for the murder of his three-year-old brother in Orange Farm, Vaal Triangle

ORANGE FARM - The Orange Farm SAPS arrested a 19-year-old suspect after his three-year-old brother was found dead in a dustbin, allegedly poisoned, in Orange Farm, in the Vaal Triangle. According to police spokesperson Sergeant Shaan Motsapi, officers discovered the child’s lifeless body after another sibling became suspicious. The sibling saw the suspect dragging a dustbin toward an open veld near the N1 and confronted him. When the suspect refused to open it, an altercation ensued, and he fled the scene.

Police, with the help of community members, worked tirelessly to locate and apprehend the suspect. He is set to appear in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court on charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice. Orange Farm SAPS station commander Brigadier Mashole Manamela commended the swift police action and the community’s support.
