A man died in a motorcycle accident in Meyerton over the weekend

MEYERTON - Cert-SA says a man died and a woman was seriously injured after a motorcycle accident on Pierneef and Louis Thrichardt Street, Meyerton, over the weekend. The organisation said their Vaal crew received a call at around 03:00 am Saturday morning for the incident. Upon arrival, they found that a motorcycle had collided with a minibus, and a male and female patient was trapped underneath the minibus. Midvaal Fire lifted the vehicle, and Cert-SA managed to extricate both patients from underneath the vehicle. The organisation said the male patient sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene. The woman sustained serious injuries and was stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby facility by ER24. Cert-SA thanked Midvaal Fire for the rapid and effective work on the scene. It said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear and will form part of a police investigation.
