Boitjhorisong Welding Training Centre celebrates sixth group to qualify

SASOLBURG - Sasol says the Boitjhorisong Welding Training Centre in Sasolburg, Vaal Triangle, is celebrating its sixth group to qualify since 2020. Spokesperson, Elsabé Ras, said in a statement the centre presented certificates of completion on Friday, 4 August, to 10 structural welding learners and four Argon Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welders who recently completed their training at the centre. Ras said this brings the number of learners trained successfully at the centre to 62 since opening its doors in 2020. Twenty of these learners progressed to the advanced training, completing their TIG welder training. According to Ras, the Boitjhorisong Welding Training Centre is a partnership between Sasol, Aurex Constructors and African Oxygen Limited (Afrox) and forms part of Sasol’s employability programme, Bridge to Work, that particularly focuses on unemployed youth and women. The purpose of Bridge to Work is to aid fence-line community members to access meaningful work opportunities that can be converted into small businesses through structured development opportunities.
