Candlelight vigil held tonight for NWU rugby player who passed away

VANDERBIJLPARK - A candlelight vigil will be held tonight at the North West University in Vanderbijlpark for the talented rugby player Vilano Saunders. The 20-year-old reportedly passed away in the Sebokeng Hospital after suffering a neck injury during an under-21 match against Springs Rugby Club in the Valke Presidents’ Cup. A Facebook event created by a fellow student, states that a candlelight vigil will be held for Saunders tonight at 18:00 pm at the NWU rugby field. This is for fellow classmates who never had the chance to say their final goodbyes or properly pay their respects. The event is an opportunity to reflect on the incredible person he was, and remember the profound impact he had both inside and outside the classroom.
