Certain Vanderbijlpark residents still struggling with water supply

VANDERBIJLPARK - Emfuleni consumers in SW 2 and SW 5 have been affected by a water supply interruption since Wednesday, when main water pipelines in the two areas burst. ELM said at the time that technicians had been dispatched to work on restoration efforts, but no ETR could be shared at that stage. ELM later said in an update technicians could not isolate only the two areas for pipe repairs and therefore notified consumers in CW 1, CW 6 and SW 1 that they will also be affected by the emergency interruptions. No update has since been given from the municipality itself, but an update on AfriForum Vanderbijlpark’s page from Cllrs. Maureen Dosoudil and Piet Smith states that the water was opened earlier today (12 July 2024), but a leak was noticed and water closed again. The councillors said the contractor is on site attending to the problem. They said that ELM later today started opening the water and will monitor if the repair is solid. If all goes well, residents can expect to have water later today. For more information contact Metsi-a-Lekoa Customer Care Center on: 087 310 3424/4095/4109 or 010 345 1640/1.
