Committee cautions parents to be extra vigilant in verifying Gauteng initiation schools

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Gauteng provincial initiation coordinating committee is cautioning parents to be extra vigilant and proactive in verifying the legitimacy of the initiation schools to which they plan to send their children. A total of 61 initiation schools were legally registered throughout the province for this summer initiation season that started over the weekend and runs until 16 January. The committee’s spokesperson, Kiba Kekana, says 35 of these schools cater for girls and young women and 26 are registered as male initiation schools.
