VAAL TRIANGLE - The Congress of South African Trade Unions, Cosatu has welcomed the government’s plan to reduce medical tariffs. The government has announced a new framework to cap exorbitant medical tariffs. This will be done through draft block exemptions. The exemptions provide a framework for stakeholders to engage and allow public input on reasonable and fair medical tariffs. Cosatu’s Matthew Parks, says the high levels of monopolies, collusion, and exorbitant tariffs, charged by medical service providers at the expense of patients are concerning.
