ELM prohibites unauthorised cutting of trees

VANDERBIJLPARK - The Emfuleni Local Municipality Parks and Cemetries Departmet notified all residents that is prohibited to indiscriminately cut trees on municipal land. This comes after several incidents of unauthorised cutting and pruning of trees located on municpal land by members of the public. ELM says while the municipality endeavours to manage trees in a professional manner, it is important to note that cutting of trees located on munipal land is illegal and anyone caught doing it will be prosecuted. ELM urges the community to report any suspicious or unauthorized cutting of trees to the Parks and Cemeteries Department.
