Eskom has pushed load-shedding to stage 5 due to the loss of generation units

VAAL TRIANGLE - Eskom is currently implementing stage five load-shedding until 4pm this afternoon. This is due to the loss of four generation units overnight. It was previously communicated that stage four load-shedding will be enforced until further notice. The power utility has ramped up planned maintenance as the winter months came to an end. However, this combined with unplanned power station outages, has resulted in high stages of load-shedding. Eskom says it will give an update this afternoon.
