Evaton Man sentenced for brother’s murder

SEBOKENG - The Sebokeng Magistrate’s Court sentenced a 21-year-old man from Evaton West for the murder of his brother, bringing justice to a tragic family dispute. The Evaton SAPS responded to a stabbing incident on 28 May 2023. On arrival police members found the 29-year-old victim with a stab wound to his chest, and was declared dead on the scene by Emergency services. Evaton Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi, confirmed that tensions between the brothers had been longstanding. According to Detective Mkhonza, the accused frequently harassed his older brother, accusing him of being favored by their parents. The accused was arrested immediately after the incident. Detective Mkhonza's relentless efforts in the investigation ensured a conviction, bringing justice to the case.
