Evaton police investigate inquest docket after body found in a nearby stream

EVATON - The Evaton SAPS is investigating an inquest following the discovery of a body in a stream near the old Evaton police station, Vaal Triangle. Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi, said in a statement that an unknown black male, estimated to be around 40 years old, was found floating face down in the water by a young boy who was passing by. Msibi said police divers retrieved the body, and paramedics declared the man dead on the scene. No visible injuries were found on him. The deceased was dressed in a blue T-shirt and brown trousers and is described as dark in complexion. The body was transported to the Sebokeng Government Mortuary by the pathologist. According to Msibi, the identity of the deceased is not yet known, but police are appealing to anyone who may have a missing relative matching this description or who may have information that could assist in identifying him to contact the Evaton SAPS.
