SEBOKENG - The Sebokeng Regional Hospital says in a statement, starting from 1 July 2024, families will be expected to pay a mortuary facility daily fee of R257,00 if they do not collect their deceased relatives from Sebokeng Hospital within 24 hours. Sebokeng Hospital’s Communication Officer, Lerato Sedulawesi, confirmed that this fee is being introduced to prevent overcrowding in government mortuaries due to unclaimed bodies. She believes this measure will encourage families to collect their loved ones promptly. This policy will apply to other hospitals as well, not just Sebokeng Hospital.
