Five heavily armed suspects arrested for alleged house robbery in Sasolburg

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Vanderbijlpark SAPS says five suspects were arrested after robbing a house in Sasolburg, Vaal Triangle, last month. Police spokesperson, Sgt Sabelo Sigcu, said in a statement sent to 90.6 FM News that the Sedibeng Infrastructure Unit and Boipatong Crime Prevention Unit received a tip off on Thursday, 15 February 2024, at about 22:00, about a blue Volkswagen Polo that allegedly committed a house robbery in Sasolburg. The vehicle was spotted on the R42, direction Vereeniging, and pulled over by police members. The five African males in the vehicle were found in possession of three illegal firearms, unlicensed ammunition, stolen property and other dangerous weapons. Sigcu said the suspects were arrested and the alleged stolen properties and the motor vehicle in question were taken, pending the case investigation. Brigadier Sefatsa condemned the criminal activities that are occurring in our mist and further encouraged our members for their dedication and hard work in making sure that, the perpetrators are arrested and brought to book.
