VAAL TRIANGLE - The Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa has recalled more than 1,000 Ford Ranger and Ford Everest vehicles in Southern Africa. The company says it identified risks that cause the engines of the vehicles to stall and could cause an accident. The recall follows recent recalls of the Puma and EcoSport models. Almost one thousand and 800 Ford Puma vehicles have been recalled in South Africa due to a safety risk that could cause a fire in the vehicle. The recall applies to models built between November 2021 and September 2024. Ford says a fuel line can rub against a container, causing a leak and possibly a fire. Signs of danger include a petrol smell, fuel under the vehicle or smoke. Customers are requested to visit their nearest dealer for free repairs.
