SASOLBURG - A former Vereeniging nightclub owner has appeared in the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of child pornography and multiple sexual offences. The 62-year-old, once a bouncer in Vanderbijlpark before running his own nightclub in the Vaal Triangle, was arrested following a probe by the Provincial Serial and Electronic Crime Unit. According to the official charge sheet, the allegations include rape, sexual assault, the use of a date-rape drug, and other serious offences involving minors. The identities of the children are being withheld to protect them. During proceedings, the accused’s lawyer requested more time to secure documents needed for a bail application. The court ordered the state to supply additional information before proceedings could continue. The case has been postponed to next week, with the accused remaining in custody until the bail hearing is heard.
