VANDERBIJLPARK - The Vanderbijlpark SAPS says four suspects arrested for murdering two people in an alleged mob justice incident, is expected to appear in court today, 25 July 2024. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu, said in a statement sent to 90.6 FM News today, that this past Tuesday, 23 July 2024, the Vanderbijlpark SAPS received a telephonic complaint after two lifeless bodies were found in a residential area in Extension 4, Bophelong. Sigcu said when police arrived at the scene they found the bodies of two African males lying face up on the ground. The bodies showed signs of assualt and their clothes were wet, with a heater that was switched on found next to them. They were declared dead on the scene. Sigcu said the two deceased men were allegedly accused of stealing a TV set and the suspects decided to take the law into their own hands, Vanderbijlpark detectives managed to effect the arrest of four suspects allegedly involved in the incident and they will appear in court today. Sigcu warned the community that it is totally impermissible for community members to take law into their own hands. He said community members are advised to report any criminal activities to their nearest police station in order for the suspects to be arrested and brought to book.
