Gauteng will open its 2026 online admissions for Grades 1 and 8 on Thursday

VAAL TRIANGLE - Parents in Gauteng are encouraged to prepare for online applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 learners. The MEC for Education, Matome Chiloane, says the online portal opens on Thursday this week and closes on 29 August. Parents must register on the department's website and upload the necessary documents. Chiloane warns that applications will be marked as incomplete if documents are not submitted within seven days. Applications for any other grades must be made directly to schools.
