Government reiterates its strong commitment to implement the National Health Insurance

VAAL TRIANGLE - Cabinet has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to National Health Insurance for universal healthcare. This commitment arises from recognising the unsustainability of both public and private health sectors, requiring resource integration into a unified national system. In her briefing on the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting, minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni says the NHI’s success is contingent upon a comprehensive approach to bolstering public sector infrastructure. Ntshavheni cautions against solely focusing on private financing, advocating broader service platform reforms to ease overcrowding in public facilities.
