VANDERBIJLPARK - Vaal motorists might be affected today by the Health and Allied Workers Indaba Trade Union (Haitu) marching in Vanderbijlpark, as part of Sedibeng, today. The union wants to highlight what it says is the deteriorating state of healthcare services in the Sedibeng region. The march commenced at 09:00 and will be terminated at 14:00. The march started at Hans Strydom to C.W. Beyers Street and continued to Pasteur Boulevard, reaching the destination at Johan Heyns District Offices. Haitu’s general secretary, Lerato Mthunzi, says healthcare workers have had enough of being assaulted and abused, by angry members of the community because of the lack of resources. She adds another issue is that the majority of clinics in the region are temporary structures, which are grossly understaffed and under-resourced.
