SASOLBURG - The Zamdela SAPS is investigating a case of inquest after two people, a male and a female, died when a block of flats at Boiketlong flats caught fire on Friday night, 21:00. Three others have been hospitalised. According to preliminary investigation it is alleged that the flats were not used for residential purposes, but were occupied illegally without the owner’s permission. The cause of the fire is still unknown as investigations are ongoing, but according to some witnesses, the flats were engulfed by flames following an alleged gas explosion during a fight between a couple.
