Meyerton SAPS arrest three suspects for armed house robbery in Kookrus

MEYERTON - The Meyerton SAPS says they managed to arrest three suspects for armed house robbery in Kookrus, Sector 3. Police spokesperson, Constable Tlaleng Moloi, said in a statement that a Meyerton police team led by Captain Mthimkulu together with Meyerton CPF patrollers, Youth Crime prevention desk, women and men as safety promoters, the Department of community safety crime prevention and traffic wardens held an awareness campaign as a form of door to door in Kookrus. This was in an effort to root out property related crimes and bring about safety and security of all the residents of Meyerton policing area. Moloi said the arrest of these suspects prompted the awareness campaign as part of the contingency plan. It was established after the realization of a slight raise in property related crimes in the area. Moloi said the purpose of the awareness campaign was to sensitise the members of the communities about house breaking and house robberies and also give crime tips for them to avoid being victims of this type of crime. Police visibility was also intensified and around 250 crime tips pamphlets distributed.
