MEYERTON - Meyerton is set for a major economic uplift as Riverstone Mall, the town’s first formal retail centre, prepares to open in March 2025. Developer Alley Roads says the R370-million development will span 20,000 sqm in its first phase, bringing a variety of retailers and services to the area. This development comes as South Africa’s retail sector experiences strong growth, with November 2024 trade sales increasing by 7.7% year-on-year. Consumer spending has surged, driven by lower inflation, anticipated interest rate cuts, and withdrawals from retirement funds under the two-pot system.
