Midvaal mayor launches mayoral student financial aid programme

MIDVAAL - Midvaal Municipality mayor, Peter Teixeira, is offering assistance to students who need financial support for a tertiary qualification. This is through the Midvaal Mayoral Student Financial Aid. The Mayoral Student Financial Aid is a result of the Buang Batjha campaign, which led to the successful Youth Summit hosted on 17 November 2023. The Buang Batjha campaign engaged young people in open discussions to address critical challenges such as poverty, substance abuse, and unemployment. During the campaign, young people from Midvaal expressed the need for more support from the municipality for those pursuing higher education qualifications. The Financial Aid is open to students in need of financial support for registration, books, or a laptop.
