Midvaal partners with afriguard to address skills gap among the “forgotten generation”

MIDVAAL - The Office of the Midvaal Executive Mayor, Peter Teixeira, has partnered with Afri Guard to launch a security guard training programme aimed at empowering individuals aged 35 and older, often referred to as the "Forgotten Generation." This initiative follows the Mayor's 2021 manifesto commitment to creating opportunities for all, particularly those excluded from typical government interventions, scholarships, and internships. In his speech, Mayor Teixeira highlighted the economic challenges faced by this age group, emphasizing their familial responsibilities and the lack of access to skills and employment opportunities. The programme is part of ongoing efforts to address unemployment and bridge the skills gap, equipping the "Forgotten Generation" with the tools to thrive in today's economy. It underscores the Mayor’s dedication to inclusivity in tackling inequality across all age groups.
