Midvaal Set to Launch Skills Development Centre

MIDVAAL - The Midvaal Local Municipality is preparing to open its first Skills Development Centre on Monday, 1 September 2025. The facility, developed in partnership with Heineken Beverages, is being hailed as a milestone project aimed at equipping residents with practical, in-demand skills. The Centre forms part of the municipality’s commitment to “Creating Opportunities for All” by addressing the skills gap within local communities. Training will be offered in key artisan trades such as plumbing, carpentry, bricklaying, electrical work, millwrighting, and boiler making, among others. Beyond training, the Skills Development Centre will also act as a hub for enterprise growth and innovation, providing small businesses and entrepreneurs with access to resources, information, and facilities. Officials say the launch marks the start of a new chapter in empowering Midvaal’s youth and workforce, ensuring more residents are prepared for sustainable employment and future opportunities.
