Midvaal showcases sustainable tourism at Bass Lake Adentures on World Tourism Day.

MIDVAAL - The Midvaal Local Municipality celebrated World Tourism Day at the Bass Lake Adventures in Henley on Klip, yesterday. World Tourism Day is celebrated on the 27th of September every year to highlight the significance of tourism in nurturing cultural exchange, economic growth, and sustainable development. The theme for this year is 'Tourism Invests in a Green Future'. Midvaal’s MMC for development and planning, Mokete Motsamai says the choice of location underscores the municipality's unwavering commitment to eco-friendly tourism initiatives. Bass Lake is known and loved as the primary open-water dive spot in Gauteng for beginners and experts alike.

The 75-hectare estate has grown into a full adventure resort, including open water swimming, kayaking, picnicking, swimming, snorkelling, fishing (seasonal), a world-class 4×4 track and so much more. According to Motsamai, Bass Lake is a great example of Midvaal’s natural beauty, and it is imperative to preserve such an area for future generations to enjoy. Motsamai says the Midvaal Local Municipality will continue to support and showcase such locations as we strive to position the municipality as an investment and tourism destination.
