Midvaal to begin with IDP public engagement meetings this Saturday

MIDVAAL - Midvaal Local Municipality will begin with the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) public engagement meetings on Saturday, January 27, 2024. MLM says the public meetings will span across all 15 Wards within the municipality. According to MLM, the IDP public engagements are aligned with the Municipal Systems Act, 2000, which mandates consultation with the local community regarding its development needs and priorities and encourages participation in the drafting of the IDP. The Executive Mayor, Alderman Peter Teixeira, along with the Speaker of Council, the Mayoral Committee, Councillors, the Municipal Manager, and Heads of Departments, will be present to listen to the inputs and concerns raised by the community. The municipality conducts these engagements to ensure planning is aligned with the needs of the community and the budget is prepared accordingly. Midvaal Mayoral spokesperson, Idah Satikhe, said they therefore call upon Midvaal communities to utilise this opportunity to engage and give their input as Midvaal continues to work to provide excellent service delivery.
