VAAL TRIANGLE - Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube, will announce the 2024 matric results in Gauteng today, as more than 870,000 candidates are ready to learn their fate. The national matric pass rate was 82.9% in 2023. This year, the individual results for the National Senior Certificate and Independent Examinations Board will be published in the media on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the class of 2024 will be able to access their results privately and conveniently through the new Gauteng matric results app. The platform, launched by the provincial government, allows learners to view their results on their devices starting today. Department of e-Government spokesperson Neo Goba says the app is part of efforts to transform education through technology, ensuring transparency and accessibility and reducing stress by protecting learners' privacy.
