Mozambique gas deal will aim to supply companies like ArcelorMittal SA

VAAL TRIANGLE - PetroSA anticipates the first gas flows from a deal with Mozambique's national energy company, ENH, later this year to address potential gas shortages. The state-owned company secured a gas trading licence in March and plans to import two petajoules, with potential to increase to 200 petajoules. This deal aims to supply industrial users like ArcelorMittal, which has operations in the Vaal and faces reduced supplies as Sasol's Mozambican gas fields deplete. Negotiations are ongoing for gas transportation agreements with Sasol and Rompco.
