VAAL TRIANGLE - The National Consumer Commission has called on consumers to stop consuming the Deli Hummus range from Shoprite Checkers. The NCC said Shoprite Checkers notified them of a product recall of the Deli Hummus range following the detection of Listeria Monocytogenes, a species of foodborne bacteria. Acting Commissioner Hardin Ratshisusu revealed concerns about product handling during manufacturing following an interim investigation. The NCC is awaiting a final report as it monitors the recall. Customers have been urged to return the products for a full refund, even without proof of purchase. He says distribution has been halted pending further investigation.
